Hailing from New Orleans, Tarriona "Tank" Ball is the frontwoman of the Grammy-nominated group Tank and The Bangas. The four-piece group has a rare knack for combining various musical styles - fiery soul, deft hip-hop, deep-drove R&B, and subtle jazz - into one dazzling, cohesive whole that evokes the scope of New Orleans music while retaining a distinctive feel all its own. Tank is known for her amazing ability to write and recently released her first poetry book in 2021 "Vulnerable AF" Tank and The Bangas recently released their newest album Red Balloon on Verve Forecast. Tarriona "Tank" Ball has collaborated with artists like Norah Jones, Lalah Hathaway, Robert Glasper, Moonchild, Brasstracks, and many more.

Women In Film and Television-Louisiana is delighted to announce our 2022 Iris Award Gala!  This is a time to celebrate and honor our wonderful women out there making history in Film and Tv.

This year's Iris Award Gala will be held at one the most prestigious venues, The Cannery! Tickets will be available for purchase Friday November 18th, 2022.

ABOUT THE IRIS AWARD

The Women in Film and Television Louisiana Iris Award honors Women who have made outstanding contributions to the Film Industry and support to the local community. The first Iris Award was given in December 2013 to screenwriter/Director/ Professor Mari Kornhauser. one of the writers of hit show “Treme”, a Film Professor at Louisiana State University, director / writer of feature films.
